If this is not possible, rinse the tooth with milk. Under no circumstances should the tooth dry out. If the tooth has been dry for more than half an hour, the chance that it can be successfully replaced is minimal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CAUTION<\/strong>: Do not bring the tooth in contact with water! The living cells of the root membrane often cannot survive on water.<\/p>\n<p>The best thing to do is to put the tooth back in the jaw by yourself or to tuck the tooth into the cheek crease of the mouth to keep the tooth moist. If that is not possible, the tooth can also be stored in a cup of milk.
